Tourniquet
• Applied on bones. (Arm-biceps, leg-femur)
• Tourniquet should be applied for serious bleeding cases which are unable to be prevented by other procedures and having a serious danger of life.
• Tourniquet is necessary in cases in which large veins( artery) are cut.
• Tourniquet should be placed slightly over the wound, not to match with joint and without touching the wound.
What is a tourniquet?
Tourniquet is used in first aid to stop the bleeding of the casualty. But it is not used in all bleeding. It is used in cases such as amputation of the injured person. In addition, in such cases, it should be used by experts.
